From the year 2020 we are supporting the Caritas Czech Republic – the largest provider of social and health services in the Czech Republic.

Our financial support was addressed to mothers in distress, seniors, or homeless, when our employees decided to whom they want to give the money. During the last year we were supporting people from Ukraine in their difficult life situation.

We want to express our gratitude to Caritas Czech Republic for their services in need.

National Competence Centers

TAČRCasale Project, a. s. Participates in the TN01000071 National Center of Competence of Mechatronics and Smart Technologies for Engineering project, which is supported by the Technology Agency of the Czech Republic within the National Competence Center Program.

 

PROGRAMME FOCUS

The Programme is aimed at supporting long-term cooperation between the research and the application spheres and at strengthening the institutional basis of applied research.
The Programme seeks to synergistically interlink the already existing successful centres, which have been created with the support of the TA CR (Centres of Competence), the Czech Science Foundation (the GA CR) (Centres of Excellence) and operational programmes (mainly the so-called RDI Centres), with other research centres and units into a single integrated system = center NCK.

 

PROGRAMME OBJECTIVE

The objective of the Programme is to increase the efficiency and quality of the results of applied research and technology transfer in key areas with growth prospects, increase undertaking competitiveness, and strengthen the excellence and application relevance of research organisations.

EDUCATION

  • We cooperate actively with the University of Chemistry and Technology (UCT) in Prague.
  • We are in close contact with the Institute of Chemical Engineering, where we pass on to students our experience gained in practice. We participate in the teaching of the course Process Engineering and Design with a lecture on the progress and all stages of the project of the construction of a chemical unit. Furthermore, we are preparing an assignment of the Process Project, in which students apply their theoretical knowledge gained by studying to solve a practical problem. At the same time, we support students in solving and consult the problem with them.
  • We sponsor the Ivan Dlouhý Prize awarded every year to students in the Faculty of Chemical Technology for the best dissertation in the field of chemical technology employing mathematical modelling methods.

PROFILE

We are a professional EPC contractor that provides comprehensive design services. We produce designs for all stages from the basic project, through the detail project, to the as-built project. We also supply process equipment and components including installation, construction and commissioning involving mechanical completion, commissioning and performance tests. We also provide project management during plant erection.

Our experience is reflected in design solutions that minimise the spatial demands of constructions and in their optimization. With our projects, there is no need to seek a compromise between investment levels and safety and quality requirements.

Process

WHAT IS OUR FOCUS
  • We take part in all phases of the project from a proposal to a potential customer, through the contract conclusion, the design of a new plant, to its start-up, the stabilization of production and the hand-over to the customer.
  • We possess the know-how about the production process and all its details. We understand the chemical and physical processes in the production unit => we are at the centre of the design team and share our knowledge and information with other professions.
  • We negotiate with the customer to whom we present a solution for the production processes as well as with suppliers to whom we define our requirements for supplied equipment.
  • We design and size equipment, piping and its elements applying simulation programs (e.g. UniSim).
  • We supply process data into datasheets of instrumentation and control devices using the database software COMOS.
  • We draw the design of the production process in process flow diagrams (PFD) and piping and instrumentation diagrams (PID) that serve as the basis for the work of other engineering professions. Part of the process documentation are also design basis, process description, material and heat balance, raw material consumption, waste production, occupational health and safety on the designed plant, and the environmental impact of the designed plant.
  • We prepare manuals for plant start-up and its operation. We actively participate in the commissioning of the designed plant and train the customer’s operators.
  • Our team also includes specialists in health, safety and environment who prepare documents for design of safety systems (HAZOP, SIL) and classify substances and mixtures in view of their hazards.

WHAT IS OUR FOCUS 
  • We specialize in projection, not construction. We do not deal with specific construction nodes, but with equipment as a whole and at the same time, as part of another superior unit – a chemical unit - which requires highly complex thinking and foresight.
  • We prepare the technical specifications of the equipment according to the requirements of the customer, the licensor and the related disciplines.
  • We prepare the technical parts of inquiries of equipment.
  • We evaluate technical parts of proposals.
  • The most important part of our work is the check and distribution of the Supplier’s documentation because before equipment is released to manufacturing, final coordination with the related disciplines is needed.
  • We determine the client’s requirements to clarify the technical solution with the suppliers - 90% of the communication being in English.
  • We check the required technical solution (used materials, design parameters, used design, but also transportability, serviceability and maintenance).
  • We go on inspection visits to manufacturers during production.
  • We support the construction process, we take part in supervision, and we engage in physical control of equipment directly at the site.
  • The key is communication and coordination with other professions (pipeline, construction, I&C, electrical, construction).
  • We work with 2D AutoCAD, COMOS, NavisWorks = Navisworks, MS Office.

Piping

WHAT IS OUR FOCUS 
  • In cooperation with other departments, we make 3D models of production units. From the completed model, the drawings are then drafted to serve as the basis for the related disciplines, but also for the purchase of the material and in the end, for the erection of the unit.
  • The basis for our work consists in particular of piping and instrument diagrams prepared by colleagues from the process division and sketches of machines and equipment from our engineers, in the next stage also drawing documentation from the equipment suppliers as well as the documentation from the civil department, which we comment and work on. We also work with our colleagues from the electrical and instrumentation department.
  • We work with the AVEVA - E3D and PDMS program for designing of industrial plants. For piping stress calculations, we use the Ceasar II software while PUMA helps us with piping specifications.

Civil

WHAT IS OUR FOCUS 
  • Our work consists in project preparation for construction of capital investment units in all stages of the project. We participate in studies, evaluation of input data from the investor, evaluation of the current state of the construction site. We create separate chapters of civil and construction solution Basic Design, Detail Design, AS BUILT documentation. We also participate in our own implementation of the project by occasional or permanent technical supervision of the construction, we take part in inspections with suppliers, we discuss the relevant chapters of the project with the investor.
  • We dispose of most of the engineering professions needed for a complex design of civil part
  • In terms of time and capacity the most demanding part of our work is execution of Detail Design documentation. Our projects must meet both the investor’s requirements, standards, local legislation, but also the requirements of related professions, especially that of process, mechanical and piping Since the entire project is handled by all the participants in real time, interprofessional coordination is very demanding. For this reason, we mostly work on the construction design in a 3D model, in which the outputs from all the other professions, i.e. pipelines, process, mechanical and electro, are represented apart from the civil part.
  • We prepare the construction part in such detail that the design is enough for the development of the production and the construction itself. Exceptions are steel structures, where project preparation ends in the Detail Design stage and the output consists of drawings, detailed material take off and static calculations.
  • All the construction professions are involved in making inquiries, evaluating proposals and drafting contracts with our subcontractors.

  • Our work begins with the signing of a contract with a customer / investor.

  • The project manager is responsible for the entire project and for the project team.

Electro

WHAT IS OUR FOCUS 
  • Design and realisation of project documentation in all stages, from concluding the contract, designing a new operating unit, calculations, setting up, putting into operation until handover to the customer.
  • We deal with a customer who presents the proposed power distribution and power solutions as well as with suppliers from which we get the input values needed to produce the project documentation. We work closely with colleagues from other departments, such as builders, steelmakers, technology, pipelines, ... because only good information sharing leads to a perfect result.
  • The project itself consists of the design, dimensioning and calculation of electrical wiring and equipment. The main parts of our projects are high-voltage wiring and switchboards, low-voltage wiring and switchboards, lighting and socket wiring, lightning conductors, earthing and bonding.
  • We use the software design tools AutoCAD, COMOS, and the ETAP computing program.
  • We actively participate in FAT and SAT tests and the commissioning of the proposed unit.

I&C

WHAT IS OUR FOCUS 
  • Our work involves the automation of the technological processes which are proposed by our colleagues in the process department.
  • We approach automation in a comprehensive manner, designing measuring instruments and control systems including their interconnection. We suggest how to lay and route the cables.
  • Those of us who are closer to the measuring instruments, predominantly design devices for measuring common and less common quantities, from temperatures, pressures, flows and levels to more complex chemical analysers. Those who prefer to transfer information by electrical wires with thin wires and zeros / ones, then predominantly process the electrical part of automation, i.e. the design of a suitable cable connection between the measuring instruments and the control system.
  • We work very closely with colleagues from other professions in our company, i.e. civil, pipeline experts, steelmakers, engineers and electricians. Our work would not be successful without mutual exchange of data.
  • An interesting diversification of our work is meeting with customers and subcontractors in our offices and at the customer sites.
  • In a more advanced stage of work on a given project there are frequent opportunities to travel to technical meetings and acceptance procedures. For those of a more adventurous nature, it will be interesting to note that in the construction and commissioning phase there are longer-term stays, naturally with regular rest at home.
  • To make work easier, we are using smart software tools, especially COMOS, in addition to standard tools such as AutoCAD and MS Office.

Purchasing

WHAT IS OUR FOCUS 
  • Our work starts with getting acquainted with the project (timeline, place of implementation, basic terms of the contract with the final customer). The units are produced based on EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction), which means designing and purchasing of equipment, construction, commissioning. Some territories are specific because construction is organized by investors’ own efforts (these are known as EP projects).
  • From our colleagues we get a list of all equipment and piping components (such as boilers, compressors, columns, reactors, pumps, pipelines, transformers and other electrical and I&C devices and instruments). It is up to us to identify the most suitable domestic and foreign suppliers and to check out their production capabilities and capacities.
  • This is followed by the actual trading. With the technical documentation and the draft terms and conditions, we address selected manufacturers of the equipment and draw up a timetable for the deliveries.
  • The most demanding phases of the work are the technical evaluation of the proposals, the negotiations with the suppliers, the combination of our technical requirements with the manufacturers’ capabilities, the evaluation, and the selection of an optimal solution from both technical and commercial point of view.
  • We have to find a common language when drafting a purchase contract, adjusting payment terms, always with the support of bank guarantees, negotiating delivery dates in accordance with the project schedule.
  • Our work does not end with the purchase. Our inspection and expediting department is responsible for the consistent inspection of the production documentation, control of the selected technological processes, production procedures, observation of milestones, standardization of the final documentation for handover to the final customer in abroad.
  • Another interesting part of our work is the transportation of equipment (logistics), often oversized and heavy pieces, for which it is necessary in cooperation with the carrier to discuss in detail the loading and unloading at the place of installation.
  • No department works independently since close cooperation is needed with the design department in the Czech Republic, CASALE SA in Switzerland, and the support of the financial department.

WHAT IS OUR FOCUS 
  • Our job description is to record and coordinate the flow of documentation which the company creates and which the company receives from suppliers. We record when a document is received or sent out and the purpose it is to serve.
  • We work with documents both electronically and in paper form.
  • We work with Microsoft Office 365 products such as Outlook, SharePoint, Word, Excel, as well as PDF document editors. When preparing a paper version of the documentation, we have at our disposal a reproduction centre.
  • An important part of the work is communication with the other departments.
  • We communicate with the designers about the documentation, with the project managers as support for project registration, reports, and overviews, as well as the sales department working with contracts.

  • The most demanding part of our work is project billing (accruals, FX fluctuations, work in progress).
  • Even more complicated is bookkeeping for our organisational units in foreign currencies and according to accounting and taxation laws of the countries where we have an organisational unit or VAT registration (Romania, Sweden, Russia, Slovakia).
